Heartstart in the community

Joe and James have run two Heartstart courses in the local community, the first for a youth group and the second for Cullercoats Methodist group.  Heartstart is a course designed by the British Heart Foundation to raise awareness of basic life support and first aid skills, such as CPR and treatment of major bleeds.  NSVL can deliver Heartstart courses to youth and community groups, the course is suitable for all ages.  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Drowning Prevention Week

Drowning Prevention Week, run by The Royal Life Saving Society UK aims to ensure everyone knows how to have fun and stay safe near water.  Shockingly drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death in children in the UK. Around 400 people drown in the UK each year, and thousands more suffer near-drowning experiences, many resulting in life changing injuries.

NSVL was proud to support RLSS UK during Drowning Prevention Week, spreading the water safety message throughout North Tyneside in schools, community groups and to the wider public during Cullercoats Harbour Day.

Find out exactly what we got up to in our DPW Diary below and check out more photos in our gallery.

Beach base update

Most of our members and associates will be aware that due to the Coastal Regeneration plans for Whitley Bay seafront (which involves the Central Lower Promenade where we are currently based) our club is required to find alternative premises.

We have received news from North Tyneside Council that we must vacate our premises by the start of April, therefore from April we will no longer have a beach base.
